End of Life Care and Bereavement

It is a sad fact of life that death will come to us all. The best we can do is to make the experience as pleasant and painless as possible. Carers, particularly those of the elderly, are in a unique position as they are exposed to this more than most and it is with this experience and understanding that they can help others going through a loss. They can prepare people for what is to come, help to preserve the dignity of those at the end of their life and assist in making sure minor worries are resolved during this unhappy time. This course is aimed at people in the caring profession who may need to look after someone who is coming to the end of their life or has recently passed, as well as their families. It is in two parts and aims to provide knowledge about the end of life process and give an understanding about the process and feelings following a death.
